久々の大雪だった。

 

昨日は吹雪舞う中、額田のお茶屋さん「宮ザキ園」の梅村さんと名古屋へ。

道中、額田の活性化についていろいろと意見を交わす。

 

額田は2006年に岡崎市と合併したものの、少子高齢化、過疎化に歯止めがかからず、昨年3月には8つの小学校のうち、3校が「閉校」となった。

地元の人々は、小学校の復活する日を信じて「廃校」とは言わない。

 

岡崎の中心部から30分も車を走らせると、緑や渓流、古い民家や苔むした石積みなど、まちなかには見られない、あるいはすでに失われてしまった自然や史跡、文化を感じられる豊かな景色が広がっている。

額田が合併する前に編纂された「ふるさと読本ぬかた」から、その一端をうかがい知ることができる。

 

 

今、康生のお弁当屋「Sweet Lunch Box」のJiroくんや上の梅村さんたち額田出身の若者たちが中心となって、額田の活性化に取り組んでいる。

 

去年の9月19日に、かつて行楽地として栄えたくらがり渓谷キャンプ場で行われた「KuRaGaRi Sound Fes」は、彼らがそれまで培ってきたネットワークが最大限に活かされた音楽あり、アートあり、地産地消の飲食ありの村おこしイベントで、予想をはるかに超す1,000人の動員を記録し、地元の人に「額田に二十数年ぶりの渋滞が起きた」と言わしめるほどの大盛況だった。

 

僕もお客さんとして足を運んだが、手づくり感あふれる会場の雰囲気、緑あふれる周りの環境、そして関わっている人の生き生きした姿、そして何より、普段こうしたイベントに馴染みがなさそうな地元のご年配の方々も多く足を運んで楽しそうにされていたのが印象的だった。

 

栄離宮忘年会でも、「2010年のTop●●」に、このイベントを挙げた人も少なくなかった。

 

こうした動きを、1人でも多くの人々に知ってもらい、一緒に盛り上げていきたい。

 

 

 

ちなみに栄離宮では宮ザキ園のお茶を愛飲している。岡崎では伝馬通りの「岡崎逸品館」や、「葵の湯」脇の売店「農の匠」などで手に入るのでぜひ。

茶師・梅村さんも一本気でひたむき、かつ熱いいい男です。
